Finnaly got time to do a new Bio. Im a 34 (gasp) year old architect, from Portugal (thats near Spain for you American folk). Like most of us here at elfwood, ive been doodling with pencils since I could tell it apart from my Mom's nose. Someday I would like to go into the illustration business, probably children illustration. Till then, Ill continue to exorcise some of my inner demons trough paper and pencil. Enjoy.

Even if most part of the americans know where portugal is, some of them just ignore that fact and don't consiger OUR country as a country and say that it's a spanish province. AS my history teacher told us, some american books don't even show Portugal as a country. But of course that not all the americans are like that, I know many americans and all of them know that portugal is an independent country. De kk maneira, gosto muito da tua arte, continua assim! O teus desenhos sao espectaculares.

Yanno, I was all set to view your stuff, because it looked really great...but I've changed my mind. I'm an American, I know where Portugal is, I even know you speak Portugese...but then so do Brazilians. Bias/prejudice in any form is unbecoming in any culture. How sad.

    Dear Miguel,

It is interesting to see a portuguese architect doing work at such a page. My compliments to a very interesting job. I went to your homepage and liked a lot the drawings presented there. Keep up with the good work.

Actually! It's true most americans can't locate Iraq in a map, and they're at war with them. Most americans don't know where Portugal is, despite having a military base of some strategic importance stationed there, and most of those who do recognise it as a spanish province, to us about the equivalent of someone assuming you as a province of Canada, you wouldn't enjoy that would you? Quit ranting about bias and prejudice and enjoy the art, wich is great. Espectacular. O teu estilo é fabuloso e tens umas ideias excelentes para os teus desenhos. Das melhores galerias que tenho visto aqui. Parabéns.

the american bashing is a disgrace, I have yet to see a history book that does not indentify portugual, maybe you need to come spend time in american shoes and see your bias from our side of the water, most americans are educated people who enjoy the rest of the world and embrace other cultures. But if all you hear and see is your own bias news and american bashing publicity it is easy to not have an open view of americans. Art embraces all cultures and the beauty of art is that it is not limited to a culture or a single country. I hope your art expands the narrowness of your mind. Look at it as color, all colors add to the pallet and expand the beauty of the production, you may have a favorite color, but if that is the only color you see, soon there is nothing to see.

As I have misplaced my password for some yers now, I can not log in as the artist, so you have to believe it´s really me.
What I find most amusing here is that I wrote my introductory text more than 6 years ago, and at the time nobody took offense, people really found it amusing and commented good naturedly on it.
Now I get all these nasty comments. I should point out That I did not change, but some Americans did.

I don't find your profile offensive. I wonder why those people took it so seriously. And by the way, many people don't know where is Finland either!1 I enjoyed your art very much!

I’m sad for you. none of these people even bother to mention your art. I don’t know why everyone is getting so hurt when all you’re trying to do is help them understand where you are in the world. However, I will say that it is unnecessary to mention that it is close to Spain because Elfwood equips us all with a handy World Map that has a little star over your location. That’s just my two cents.
