Well, those wounds look like they're rather old, kinda like they're just old, painful scars: SO, if they were to have blood dripping down out of them, like they "beasties'" teeth had hit an artery, and the blood soaks through they're clothes, and drips into the swamp water, and maybe if part of they're bone is showing...
