SciFi and Fantasy Art: Faerie: Lady Rosenred (in color)

This is just too awesome. Lothlorien artist Christine Houser (of gallery 173) colored this for me (in secret!) and then sprung it on me, and I'm so amazed by it I HAD to ask to put it up. I should just scrap my black and white one now, so lifeless it now seems in comparison. Thanks, Christine.

*hum* The color is nice, but for some reason I like the uncolored version better, I am not really certain why. Maybe bacue it feels a bit too dark, kind of like faeries should have a lighter feeling to them, to convey the magic-ness. Of course, she might be an earth type faerie, considering that she is a rose faerie. I say leave the original up so that people can compare, which is really a fun thing to do.

At the same time, faeries can be imagined as contrasting the world around them as often as blending with it. Christine also offered a lighter, colored-pencil-alone version which is softer. I could always put that up. But I love them both. (It's just such a delight to see something you're familiar with seen in color by someone else's hand.) And you, Jenny, I happily count among those colorers!

I gotta agree with Jenny... I DO like the original better, but I had to print out a copy (blargh), and work off that. Yeah, it was actually Corel Draw 8 to blur it. I HATE that I lost another, fully computer colored version of this (stupid D drive ::kicks computer:2, but I wanted to get this to you, o Jeff, before Christmas. It just didn't happen, and I'm sorry about that. But I'm glad you like it. ^_^ Talk to you later.

Nice image! IS she wearing rose petals or pine-cone bits? the color throws it a bit. They're about equal though, just a different concept *GrinS* lovely work, As for the color, the eyeshadow's a cute touch!

I love this its so perty. The roses are spiffy. The colouring is okay but you cant colour a bad drawing good and say its a good drawing, this is a good drawing only improved by nice colouring. Well done *gives you a pie*

Hmm, very nice. Is this anything to do with the song Lady Rosenred by Lake of Tears? If not you should listen to it. I think it may suiit your picture well. ^^
