SciFi and Fantasy Art: Ruins

Also an old drawing, seriously in need of touching up. I have come across ruins myself, the crumbled forts of West Point, in the woods where I grew up. There is something awesome about looking at the dying stones of older glories. Somehow what still remains after all those years of neglect appears more noble than the original.

Oh, my! It's Rostand's balcony scene revisted! Perhaps hundreds of years later... Or after a war. Beatiful. The simplicty of it somehow plays in with the detail and makes it very lifelike. You are very lucky to be aquainted with such a place! It'd be nice to have something like that to gaze upon.

I am fortunate enough to live in a small county with the highest proprtion of castle ruins anywhere in the UK. There is something undeniably magical about ruins, and your picture captures the beauty and decay wonderfully.

I have the strange suspicion that an evil goblin lives in that well *evil goblin jumps out of the well and starts to gash you in the stomach with a sword runs off and jumps down the well*

I know the reason it looks so magical. because there is life in the death... the destroyed castle and all... but then there is that tree that is still alive and made it through the battle or whatever. Very nice... has alot of meaning... 2

I just want to say that I love this picture. I am not great or even good at drawing and painting art, but I LOVE this picture. I agree with you and i love the way you worded it. It does seem that the ruins are more noble in a way. I say keep up the very good work! This story though has inspired me to write a story. (that is more my thing rather than art). Also i want to agree with Helen Rich. There is something magical about ruins and your picture does capture it.
but good job!!
LOVE IT!

This drawing is haunting. When you look at it,it seems to draw you in to this wonderful place. I can see myself sitting down to read a book,Also it would be a great place to explore. It is a wonderful drawing with no wast of strokes. I can't draw at at all. But I am a champion appreciator. Keep going. I lived in England for 10 years.
