SciFi and Fantasy Art: MerMother-to-be

I've always loved the concept of maternity... the full woman's figure and her promise of bring new life into the world. Perhaps that's where this picture came from. I'm not really sure. It was a sudden inspiration that came and went rather quickly, but I like the picture enough.
Interestingly, one does wonder HOW on earth a mermaid would give birth. Indeed, how would they even concieve? Suddenly mer-people are deprived of one of mankind's most treasured pastimes... ahem. Ah, fantasy.

19 Apr 2005	Dr. Fantasy	Loading... The baby probaly comes out about where does on humans only that place is concealedin the top part of the tail and only visable when being used. At least that's how it works on dolphins, whales and other marine mammals which I'm assuming the mermaid is. Sorry for the long scientific lecture. Its a great pic btw.
