SciFi and Fantasy Art: Rock Dragons

This was a fun picture I did where I tried my very best to get a background in with the dragons. It worked, but the picture is faaar too big for my scanner, so only a smidgen of the background is visible. Never mind that there is a tree growing out of sheer rock... what do you think? (2b Pencil)

4 Dec 2002	Kat	Loading... I just wanted to comment on the tree growing out of the rock. It is totally possible and happens a lot. We look at tree and rocks like this in my geology classes... I really like the picture in its entirity. You have some awesome pictures.

15 Dec 2003	Anonymous	Loading... this is a very easy question, look at it this way, mermaids (being part fish and all) would lay the eggs on the ocean floor, and the male would come and fertilize them with his sperm. although my theory defeats the purpose of your picture, its well drawn and I like a lot.
28 Feb 2004	Jennifer Easley	Loading... can i just say that i get vertigo when i look at the position of the top dragon on that cliff edge, really i do! its a shame we cant see all of the backround because whats there has loads of depth and....well i dont know really how to describe it but i can really feel it all you know? The whole atmosphere and how you can imagine the breeze up there where the dragons are, you definately get a sense of height i think. Basically, well done! I'll shut up now
22 Aug 2005	Corvus Niger	Loading... Makes me think of an old Chinese ink work. It's beautiful, and with a lot of small details, such as the little tree, that create all its charm.
