SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Death of the Many-Colored

'Saruman laughed 'You do what Sharkey says, always, don't you, Worm? Well, now he says: follow!' He kicked Wormtongue in the face as he grovelled, and turned and made off. But at that something snapped: suddenly Wormtongue rose up, drawing a hidden knife, and then with a snarl like a dog he sprang on Saruman's back, jerked his head back, cut his throat, and with a yell ran off down the lane. Before Frodo could recover or speak a word, three hobbit-bows twanged and Wormtongue fell dead.' -J.R.R. Tolkien 'The Return of the King.'

This is my second Tolkien-related picture. I wanted to do a scene that I had never seen illustrated... This one jumped into my head... What do you think?

I think this pic is really good. I love the way you captured Sarumon and the look on his face is priceless. This is just fantastic. Although you could have made them look a little dirtier I suppose, and Wormtongue could look a little more.... wormy. But hey, who am I to complain? I couldn't draw that.

I must say first that this is an awesome picture. The detail, shading and proportions are very well done! You really captured this scene exactly as I imagined it when I read that book. Well, keep up the good work, I really enjoy your style!

Very well done. Although one can't help wondering how he will manage to cut Saruman's throat through that thick beard... 2 Nice and dynamic, and the pencil work is good too.

Awesomely well-drawn! Ace perspective, and such strong action lines. A very dynamic picture. ^__^ Also, the proportions are awesome. I love the hands!
