SciFi and Fantasy Art: Cirrhyim in Water

This is a Cirrhyim. They're supposed to look like dragonish people with feathered wings, but some say this looks like a donkey head. Go figure.(Note to viewers: I know the fish is kind of pathetic, but keep in mind this isn't earth she's on, so the fish will look different!) (1998)

About the shading: Well, take a look at F.A.R.P, there might be something, but it's rather empty. The best would be to look around elfwood for some shading examples...

I think that this drawing needs something more to it. It's VERY, VERY plain.

As I already told ya: da fish is a riot!!! Nice pic, and at least your art is original, you make up your own creatures. Nice work!!

I don't think it's just the fish that's pathetic...

Did everyone pick up on that? Let me spell it out: Maggie, feel free to draw--if you enjoy it, that's great. Just don't post it and lower the quality of a site as beautiful and prestigious as elfwood.

:-) Maggie L.A. Duckworth replies: "Hello again, Moira. Pretty name, that. I don't understand why you like to go around and leave comments like this. I know that I welcome any and all comments, because they help me know what to improve. Yet you seem very discouraging. Where will artists get without helpful criticism? I would really like to actually speak with you...on AIM, or through e-mail. You have some strong oppinions that I'd like to hear you argue out more in depth. I'd also like to know what you have to say about the pictures you skipped over....because, as I've said before...I agree that my old work is crap. But by posting it...I heard what to do better, and I GOT better. Please, if you ever get these comments...do drop me an e-mail. "

well Moria- IF you'll notice around elfwood- there are pictures worse than this- if the mods didnt want this up- they wouldnt have accepted it. Get over it- and flame the people without talent.

A great one- add some color, shading, and a background then it will be great!

Dont let people like Moria get ya down- Elfwood allows you to post your art, not moria so dont worry about her.

and btw- the fish is cool!

:-) Maggie L.A. Duckworth replies: "Thankyou, again, Brianne. May your optimism save a good many artists from quitting, yet."
