SciFi and Fantasy Art: Lady of RohanEowyn, Lady of Rohan, ready to go and fight against the Witch King- an opponent who would be impossible even for the best warriors... Definitely one of my oldest pics in here, done way back in 1998 or so.. | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 22 Apr 2002 | Elahe | nice but I don't imagen Eowyn like that. | |
| 4 May 2002 | Lúthien | It may sound strange, but all the characters from LotR and Silmarillion you dra look exactly like I had imagined them... how do you make this possible? | |
| 17 May 2002 | Faria Evenmoor | Your picture really captures Éowyn's determined spirit. But she really WAS an experienced fighter, else she'd never have left home. She knew her own strengths. | |
| 21 May 2002 | Otso | Hehe, shes got some guts hasn't she? Nice work, i like the robe and her face. Good thinking with where to put the shield, i like that too. Her right foot may be a little off, im not sure, maybe thats just me. But its a good picture. | |
| 25 Aug 2002 | Kim | YAY! A realistic female warrior! Not one that is half naked going into battle. (I think there all suicidal) Thank you SOOOOOOOO much for drawing a decent warrior. | |
| 20 Sep 2002 | Sarah | Great picture! She looks like an Eowyn..hehe. Oh, and by the way, she was trained in battle I think, because it says in Return of the King.... (this was after the winged creature of the nazgul flew into the air and came down upon her)"Still she did not blench: maiden of Rohirrim, child of kings, slender but as a steel blade, fair yet terrible. A swift stroke she delt, skilled and deadly." and then she chopped its head off! YAY!^_^ Ok, I'll stop babbling on and on now, I just wanted to clear that up. Nice pic! (And I agree with Kim, the warrioresses that go into battle half naked are just asking to be killed...hehe) Hanna Lehmusto replies: "I wonder how that part is translated in the finnish version... I was quite suspicious about her training because in the book there really wasn´t mentioned anything about women with training in battle. But thanks, I´ll fix the text. ) " | |
| 23 Feb 2003 | Anonymous | Eowyn has always been by far my favorite female character in Lord of the Rings. I never much cared for Arwen. She always seemed weak in character to me. Eowyn went and fought for what she believed in and what she wanted. Arwen was a lovely woman, one who would make a good wife and counsel, but to me she didn't have much backbone or she would have disobeyed her father and went with the Fellowship to protect Aragorn. I'll shut up now before some Arwen fan decides to chop my head of and feed my lifeless corpse to the Wargs. Great pic. I bow to you in your awesome interpretation of character. J-rae | |
| 2 Mar 2004 | Tanniliel | this is lovley it really shows Eowyn is proud and brave. shes striving to prove shes more than meets the eye and really wants to fight for those she loves, People tend to think she is somewhat cold, but that is not true. and arwen is a fantastic woman, she sacraficed everything her immortality, her father and a chance of seeing her mother again for 60 years with aragorn so dont say that arwen is not brave! | |
| 15 May 2004 | Amy McKenna | I like this version of Eowyn better than peter jacksons, she's much fiercer. New Line's Eowyn was kind of pouty compared to this one. good job! | |
| 16 Dec 2004 | I love LOTR! | Eowyn was my favorite character, so much better than Arwen! why did they give her such a big part in the movie, & they replaced Glorfindel w/ her! > Prob'ly cause that whiny actress decided to play her, so they give her bigger part! >8( | |
