SciFi and Fantasy Art: Lady and the Dragon

One of the first four or so pictures that I'd done in colour. Coloured pencil, that is... I still won't go near paints (Or wouldn't, at the time. I will now!). I was aiming for a celtic type look for the lady, but as you can see, I failed miserably. :) (99)

You could go out and start illustrating books today! The celtic look is there (the dress). The colours are beatiful.
26 May 1999		Loading... Really beautiful! The coloring job is very good and the colors are well-chosen and vibrant. The dragon is really lovely. Her face is hard to see, a background could help, so could lining her face with shadows... of course, if its just the scanner washing out the picture, there isn't much one can do about that.

21 Sep 2003	Emerson Ward	Loading... Not bad, I think the face needs more shadow definition to bring it out, but the body and the dress is very nice, certainly the right style (though maybe if you replaced the blue with gold braiding) and i love the shading and fabric ripples. The dragon is cool too
