SciFi and Fantasy Art: Green Elf

(January 2005) My first fantasy piece in a looooong time, and I'm pretty happy with her. I'm sure she's self-explanatory - foresty, leafy elf, not really sure what else to say about her on that front. I was planning on more leafy bits to her hair, but given that I haven't drawn in so long I thought it best not to. And I've actually sold the original, to my surprise!

She's coloured pencil on far-too-toothy watercolour paper (hence the texture), about A4 size. The pose was taken from a stock photo - 'Pink21' by ChalkyHands http://chalkyhands.deviantart.com/.

And, yes, the neck's quite funny... I really didn't pull off the pose very well. Still, I'm rather pleased. I've since drawn a companion piece (but not yet scanned it), and am hoping to pump out more.

I see what you mean about the neck, but its not ..horribly obvious. The good far out weighs the bad. I think there is a slight curve as you have, but I think the shading makes it stand out too much. Nice job anyway!
