SciFi and Fantasy Art: Radiant Koi

This is a character I have drawn for a friend of mine who calls himself CardBoardArmor. He plays Exalted over IRC with a group of people I've known for several years. They all suddenly bombarded me with requests which I was more then happy to oblige. His character is called Radiant Koi. When I am asked to do a character portrait, I request a detailed list of features, clothing, and weapons as well as a character story so I can better understand the personality of the character. This is my favorite image so far, I enjoyed drawing Koi quite a bit. Then CBA comes online to announce that he won't be online or playing for a month! I haven't received as much input with this character as I would have liked. I generally hand sketches to the person who owns the character, they tell me whether I've got it or not and I start over with a clearer picture and a few changes. If everything looks alright, I carry on to a clean picture, something like this.

What a neat picture. Very "in your face".

Great picture! I like her pose. And very nice coloring by the way!

I like this one very much. I like how you've named it 'koi' because the orange spheres remind me of koi fish. Very cool perspective too.

love the perspective on this, I went into a search trying to find a character from kill bill (gogo cant-remember-the- rest-of-the-name) but im happy that i found this. Its almost like shes playing with a yoyo (i mean that in a good way) what kind of medium did you use on this because by the way you highlighted the ball it almost reminds me of brass. very nicely done im sure the guy you did this for will like it very much 2

Amazing! I like how dynamic it is. And the colouring is nice, too...

The best part about this picture is not it's warm color or the whole perspective, but the movement you have in your character. I just can feel her movement, and movement in characters makes them feel alive, which helps strengthen a picture. So great job!!

no, we just PLAY it in IRC. Everyone sits in front of their computers at home, alone, in the dark surrounded by snackies. There is a dice bot that does all the dice rolling and the players all must send the GM their character sheets. Long distance pen and paper playing.
