SciFi and Fantasy Art: Tropical Dragon-Faerie

This is Pippit, a member of a species of dimunitive dragon noted for their bright colours and tendency towards mischief. He's based on the Chinese Feathered dinosaurs (kin to the raptor) and is currently trying to decide whether or not to sample a particularly tasty mouthful of hummingbird. He's coloured in polychroma pencils with a messily done acrilyic background. It would have been better if I had coloured that first, but well, you live oyu learn, right?

I can't believe this hadn't got any comments yet! Oo This is so cute and colourful! That hummingbird better watch out! ^^ Rainforests are very interesting as they are, but I wonder if they'd be any more protected if such a creature was discovered in them..

On the art crit note, you could have a little more contrast (light/shade more than tone really) between the dragon and the background to make him stand out a bit more. (unless you wanted him to blend in with his surroundings the way he does in the picture. 1
