SciFi and Fantasy Art: Karla of Glacia

This is yet another depiction of a character from Anne Bishop's trilogy. This one is of the Glacian Queen Karla.

Wow! this is a great picture, definitely how I always imagined Karla would look! Love the hair, it's absolutely perfect....and the outfit is exactly the sort of thing Karla would wear....

The whole picture just works really well and brings her character to life! Great job and keep up the great work!

:-) Lennaire R. Miller replies: "Thanks. I had a hard time deciding what to put her in since she's not too feminine but not so masculine either. "

There is not nearly enough BJT art out there and I am thrilled to see an artist of your skill make renditions of Anne Bishop's characters. Not only are you very talented, but you have paid great attention to detail and this representation of Karla (and the rest of your BJT art) looks very true to form for her character. I have only one complaint...that there isn't more! All us art hungry Anne Bishop fans would love to see more of your work.

:-) Lennaire R. Miller replies: "I plan on drawing more when I get some free time. Hopefully this weekend I can get another couple of them done."

Amen to the commenter above. This IS Karla indeed. Totally. The outfit, the hair, everything. Thank you for doing this, I needed to see decent BJT art and you've supplied me with an accurate lesser character, which is so refreshing. I mean, detail is so important or it's NOT the character. Sure, there's going to be discrepancies about looks, but not to the extent I've seen some. Hell, I've seen Lucivar BLONDE. And someone who spelled Daemon's name Damien. How do you do that, unless you didn't read it? *hug* I'm sorry. I just love the books and hate to see so much art that lacks the details. Your piece is wonderful.

:-) Lennaire R. Miller replies: "Thank you so much for the compliment. I know what you mean about discrepancies and I have seen Jaenelle drawn somewhere with black hair. That really burned me up!Hopefully, when I finally get some free time I can draw some more of the smaller characters and maybe even tackle Daemon and Lucivar."

Karla is such a classic character - its so refreshing to see her drawn as I'd imagined her.

She looks feminine, but kinda like a femme-fatal. I love that about her. And her hair is perfect, I'd always imagined her with shorter spikes but I truly like them just a touch longer. And as the first poster said, those clothes are too perfect. They're kinda tight, kinda billowy, they're very androgynous.

Fantastic job... I'm just so happy to see some BJT artwork that really looks like the characters!
