SciFi and Fantasy Art: A mage

A 'head shot' of a mage. Done with mechanical pencil on a piece of white cardboard. The snake's head to the right is his staff. The scan is not as good as the original, I must admit.

Some of the best stuff I've ever seen was done on cardboard and paper bags. 2 The face is very well-done - you've captured a worried expression perfectly. Nice detailing on the staff, too. If you have a Photoshop-type picture manipulation program, I'd reccommend shading the staff a bit, and removing a little of the shadows from behind the guy's head - but I don't have a program like that, and I'm not that good with shading myself, so who am I to say? 12 Overall, very well done! *applause*
