SciFi and Fantasy Art: Loneliness

Another part of a larger picture. The scanner cut off the dragon flying by the castle she's in and a tapestry on the side of the picture. I also scanned it crooked and couldn't fix it for some reason. Anyway, she's a princess who doesn't want to be one, and she's thinking about the dragons... colored pencil.

Wow! It almost looks like her skirt is made of glass, both reflective and translucent.

swirly! Neat window. Looks like a claw over on the left. Be freaky if it came alive. Hm. Makes me think of The Haunting.

really nice picture. About scanner cutting things off, you could try scanning it in parts and then piecing it together in whatever program you're using for graphics. I do this all the time (why haven't anybody cared to make a bigger field scanner?) Also, one little critisicm - the shadow. It ends very abruptly, not corresponding to the pattern on the window - it actually would extend all the way into the room. Also, coincidentally, it ends right on the level with the sill, so it may look like her dress (and legs) are transparent. Actually, that could be interesting. Other than that, I really love the mood of your drawing... And her expression is very beautiful... good job.

hmmm... I figured the way the light fell, the wall would just be uniformly dark and the shadows from the window would start up again on the floor.... this is the problem with not having an ironwork window and princess around to pose for you when you do this sort of thing *L*

Is this from that book where the princess goes to the dragons and becomes one of thier servants?

Love it love it love it! Her nose is just a tad big, but, what can I say? I have a big nose too ^_^;; The shading rocks, I wish I had that talent... Hey, I'm still learning ^_^
