| 18 Dec 2000 | Wolfram | In foil/epee fencing, a lunge is the term used for the extension of the body into the strike of the blade. All lunges are preceded by thrusts. In the French style that I learned, the tip of the blade is usually pointed at a slight downward angle, but the foot positioning is correct in this picture.
