SciFi and Fantasy Art: Queen of queens

well, yeah crappy scan , but ... the format isn't realy easy to scan ... and my scanner isn't easy to scan either:) NEways, this is a pencil drawing based on a statue of queen nefertari ... the most beautifull of alll they say ... didn't quite catch the beauty in my drawing nor in the scan I made, but I think it's a nice try ... I'll try to make a better scan as soon as I find the time (L. fecit 1999)

Awww I love Queen Nefertari, I have studied Ancient Egypt last year, but also have read a lot about Ramsès II's period. I think that you captured the beauty very well and the shading is amazing!!

What can I say? Realistic to no limit, and on a subject near and dear to me. You study archaeology perhaps? -I do,and you have done a superb job I must say!

'didn't quite catch the beauty in my drawing' my foot! She's very beautiful. I love egypt... well... watching documentaries about it that is... hehehe. One day i'll go there and touch the silent, ancient statues and imagine the sunbrowned hands that carved them so painstakingly.... the sweat and the blood that was put into the huge monuments that would stand the test of time and become the marvel of the modern world.... *wry grin* i have this thing for ancient works of art... it was a great loss for me when i heard the great statue of buddha was torn down by muslim extremists. Those bastards....

I think you caught the beauty very well. I love the shape of her eye. I think you should do something about the top of her head though, it's kinda flat. Very beautiful job though, and you got the Egyptian feel very well. You should size it down a little, though, so it will be easier to see the whole thing at once. Great work, keep it up 2

She is beautiful, your queen, Liesbeth! you gave her a wonderful expression. Very good shading on this face. Her mouth is very sensual.

This is gorgeous, Liesbeth! You did a fantastic job with the shading. This statue dates to my favorite historical period of all time, and you have captured the spirit of it very well.
