SciFi and Fantasy Art: Weary Of War

Alone on the Battlefield he throws down his sword as he limps away from the sounds of war on his twisted and gored leg. His other arm hangs limp with the weight of his broken shield as blood streams down his shattered arm. The young Satyr has fought for so long, the war started slowly as the creatures began to grind on each others nerves, the harmony of the creatures wore away with each trespassing and theft like how the drip of water wears away a hole in a stone. Soon all creatures of myth could no longer stand the others presence and so the war began as clan was pit against clan. The Satyr entered this war with enthusiasm, he could not wait to be in the lines of battle and at first he fought with a lust…
but as time went on, as he saw more death, as his sword became the blame for the end of so many lives and as now he endures so much pain and walks through the battle field full of the dead and dieing, he wishes to see no more. His tears mix with the blood on his face and he limps away on his twisted and shattered leg and tries to come to grip with the pain in his very soul. . . He is a weary warrior who has laid down his sword and now no longer strives for war but only to not let him self be laid down, he now strives to live, to get past the field of the dead and dying and leave the sounds of war far in the distance, war is a horrible thing, and he is lucky to have lived long enough to relize it and keep what is left of his life…
i did this image and story to try and express my feelings about war in a way every one can see; this image has only been amplified by the talk about bringing back the draft here in America due to the war at hand...

Mythicalness is also on Crack, this is not amazing or great work, not close to being your best, Axe It. You can do much much better, and I think you know that.

I guess John really doesn't have that ability to search through a picture, to find it's meaning, and to see the emotion which is dripping from this picture. The red agaisnt the grays is amazing, and it really does show how some guys think war is so noble and great, but they come back wondering how that thought could even come across their mind at all. IF they come back at all.

:-) Lilleah Adora West replies: "yeah, i agreed with some of what he said, but frankly i think this one is one of my better images!!!!"

NOTE- Please, everyone read this. Some other people besides John need to learn this information, too.

John, please, for the good of us all, just back away from Elfwood and go do something else. You are not a true artist if you can't learn to accept other's work. You need to shut your yap and spend some time working on your own gallery. Criticism is only good if it's constructive, not just offensive. You really need to realize that there ARE other artists with a lot more talent than you, and Lilleah Adora West is definitely one of them.

I feel what your feeling. I really hope they don't bring back the draft. It's bad enough my dad was chosen to go to war three times in less than three years.

This really conveys the terribleness of war! The contrast of the red against grey, black and white is really good. I like the lighting, and the clouds are well drawn too. Proportions are great! But I like best the meaning of this picture and the message - it comes across very strongly. I like the background story/description too, it is very powerful! War truly is senseless, and its time everyone noticed that!
