SciFi and Fantasy Art: Swamp Ryder

Once upon atime, long long time ago lived a gaelic family. They lived in an very old forest with the protection of the near by druids. The youngest of the children was a little girl named Tracy. She lived up to her name, meaning Battler in gaelic. The druids liked this one very much and taught her how to defend herself. When she was about ten her family went deeper into the forest to find more food. The last thing she remembers was that she stayed behind cleaning up the house and the family all said we'll be back. But they never were seen again. The druids came the next day and told her that her family was not coming back. They were attacked by some wicked trolls living on the other side of the forest. Trolls don't like humans ,alive anyway. They prefer them in a stew. With that she went to stay with the druids and learned about the forest and how to stay alive. One day she will kill the trolls.......but thats another story!!!!!!!! By Patrice Moniz

Oh, I remember this piece! I used to have it as my desktop pattern a few years ago... I had once wondered where I'd found it *smiles*
Well, it's brilliant... I've always liked her legs for some reason, you have a talent for making difficult angles look terrific!

:-) Karl 'Angel' Lines replies: "or make difficult angles look even more difficult hehe"

I love this piece! Somehow it doesn't look as if it were done in traditional media? Either way, I applaud you. You show your versatility in subject and style.

:-) Karl 'Angel' Lines replies: "Oils on canvasboard, I think this was one of the last oil pieces I did to completion maybe"

I like her bum 1 1

I would love to get into oil painting! I've done a couple for class, that's about it.
Anywho, I love this piece, I love her tattoos (those are tattoos on her right?) and i love the dragon... At first I thought he was just a horse and then looked closer and saw the difference ;P

Good job!

I love the colors on this! A really good use of negative space, as well. The correlation that the patterning of the beast's skin and the tattooing on her draws is very interesting. Almost makes you think that they're related, to an extent. I have to agree with Cheung, though . . . very reminiscent of Brom's work.
