SciFi and Fantasy Art: Not In Kansas Anymore

this picture was drawn for my mom, as a little joke between she and i. years ago when we lived in Kansas, i had only been living there for a few months when the tornado warnings started sounding, when those are heard you only have a few minutes to get to the storm shelter. well.... i wasnt about to leave my cats, birds, or snake behind.. i wanted to grab my fish too but that was a little more difficult. So i am running around grabbing my cats, my mom's cats, my snake and birds, handing them to my mom, ollie, gustov, and alvus we all haul down to the storm shelter, as soon as everyone/every-critter was safely down there i took off again back into the house. they were all freaking out thinking i was going to get eaten by the tornado lol. i returned about five to ten minutes later with bags full of chips, candy, water bottles and other misc snack food.. as i saw it i would rather not be stuck in a moldy basement for gods know how long without food or water lol. The next day my mom was walking around the yard when she found a steak knife.. one of her steak knives stuck in the corner of the yard, a few minutes later she found another in the other corner. She came into my room all sorts of confused 'the strangest thing.. i just found two of my steak knives stuck in the ground outside' i just started laughing and told her 'if you look in the other two corners of the yard you will find two more.' I read in a book somewhere that the blade of a knife stuck in the ground with the sharp side facing a tornado will ward it away from your house ... well.. while i was gathering food the day before, i figured it couldnt hurt to be superstitious, and i wasnt sure which direction the tornado of doom planned to attack from.. so .. i put it in all the corners :D ------ i've been working on this pic for about a week and a half, it would have been finished and posted but my tablet pen died and i had to wait for another one to be shipped to me. so .. here is the pic! :D *no complaining at me for anatomy errors, i know they are there* Falln and pic ect.. 21 Aug 2005	Anonymous	Loading... Nice little story you got to go with that. I bet that sucked being new to Kansas and gettin one of our famous tornadoes. Too many animals can be a pain if you ask me. especially when you have a bunch of cats AND dogs, they are the biggest pain. we usually go outside and wath the twoster thought. But I was also born here, that makes a huge difference. Li Vincent replies: "lol yeah.. it was quite an interesting little adventure ^_^;"
26 Sep 2005	abby something	Loading... don't you wish there really was a witch or an angel who took care of animals in disasters like that? wonderful story. Doritos and my puppy are exactly what i would take into a tornado shelter with me.
