SciFi and Fantasy Art: ArtimisThis is Artimis, greek goddess of the hunt, and gaurdians of the animals. Done in pencil. This was originally the thumbnail sketch for a much larger version in oil pastels (which is 2.5 feet by 1.5 feet) I plan to post it here soon, but it will take 6 scans before it is all in the computer. This is my first partially nude female, so any anatomy advise would be greatly appriciated:) | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 20 Mar 2001 | Jennifer | i think this picture is nice , but she is to open , mstly the greacs weard close onlol, she is artemis, the goddess of the hunt, she don't need clothes, hehe...besides everyone, male or female has to draw a naked women for there fantasy gallery sometime... | |
| 20 Apr 2001 | Ola | ACTUAL, helpful criticism. arms are a bit awkward, not continuous enough. Strange distribution of body fat, big thighs and hips, yet it seems like you can almost see the ribs. Shoulders too narrow... | |
| 7 Jun 2001 | Jonathan Sargent | Great pic. A few small changes in my opinion--Need to take some of the flab from her but and thighs and put it on her arms so she doesn't look grotesquely muscular. She doesn't, but arms like that could keep me from dating someone. Calves look incredible! | |
| 13 Jun 2001 | Nathan Neil Phillips | I have to agree with Ola. If she has nice hips like that, she shouldn't be so thin around the ribs. Otherwise, rrrwoowrrrrr | |
| 8 Feb 2002 | Kira | The drawing is a little off...the head is a little big but i do have a question, did you ever look up what Artemis looked like? Next time try long blonde hair, you can leave her nude if you like but she needs a bow and arrow set, not to mention that the snake that you have her with is not appropriate, she should be with a stag.considering Artemis was, after all a mythical person, I don't think I really have to worry about what she looked like. In some artist's perceptions artemis did indeed have brown hair. May I remind you that these are my perceptions of Artemis. The snake instead of the stag, my take--instead of a huntress, I was going for "virginity" doesn't mean ignorance, that it can mean great knowledge, [incase you didn't know, some people like to express things that are not always thought of through art, it isn't just eye-candy] As what the snake represents. If you really have a problem with how I depicted her, why don't you draw Artemis? Lorrie 'Eoduin' Guetre replies: "considering Artemis was, after all a mythical person, I don't think I really have to worry about what she looked like. | 28 Mar 2002 | Daniel | Some anatomy tips: 1. Work on the hand. I'm afraid there's no way of learning to draw hands other than sketching real ones. 2. Elbows aren't thin like that, they have a sticking out bit on one side. 3. The face - pretty much the same comment as the hand. Lorrie 'Eoduin' Guetre replies: "heh, thanx, yeah, hands are indeed hard to draw. I've been working on it " | |
| 29 Jan 2003 | Chelsea | This picture is great but she needs some clothes b/c i need some pictures of Artemis clothed for a school project!!!! | |
| 3 Oct 2003 | Anonymous | well the actaull art isnt bad its just that Diana/Artimis would never pose naked. she turned a man into a deer for seeing her naked. | |
| 26 Nov 2004 | The Artist | Oh, my god, it's art people. Not realistic representations of mythology, and Artemis like all people I'm sure would have taken her clothes off at some point. Yeesh, I want some real critique, not nitpicky details that have no relavance in ART. Now if I was illustrating a book on mythology for you, and you were paying me to do it, that would be different. Grow a freaking imagination. | |
| 13 May 2008 | Anon. | Her face is kinda manly. lol | |
