SciFi and Fantasy Art: The death tree

in dead silence you hear this creatures call clear and resiliant, like blood on a pure white wall. he creates your guilt, can take away your pain, and holds the names of everyone he's slain. knows no truth, but cannot tell a lie he waits in darkness for souls who'll soon die. it carries a sadness, and to it he holds true; he sees your life, and your powerlessness, and you'll never have a clue. for when the death tree beckons, there is no escape. and there is no end, to to sorrow he creates.

Yikes, this is harsh and scary. Very well planned and drawn. Is this pencil? If it is, would you consider inking it, at least partially? The contrast will grow, you see; darker darks, brighter brights... Splendid work!

eerie... so now I know what happens when you die (and the way you portray it in words and imagery It's actually believable). No, seriously, great pic... love the shading and the dark mood it conveys and the description is a lot better and more eloquent than I could ever have done it. Keep up the excellent work!
