SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Flute Player

I suppose, if one wished to be technically accurate, it's not playing on a flute so much as on pan-pipes. Anyway. It's playing... something. And it's in acrylic! Yaaay, acrylic. I like trees.

This picture is SOO beautiful! I love the atmosphere and the little guy is totally cute.
What kind of paint did you use to make it?

hi
i absolutely love the "roughness" in your painting style - brings a certain added mystery to the painting. I love it!!! 2

You've really captured the emotion in this piece. I can almost hear what she's playing.

A story of its one. A very melancholic, heart squeezing, emotional picture. Her/his eyes give the sadness effect to the picture I think.

At least in my story its a him and he is just trying to learn to play an instrument, but he hides from the eyes of others as they would only laugh at the attempt. I would guess this to be one of the first of those occasions, he is still insecure, he must still look at which hole he places his claws over (a miusunkh flute can only be played by creatures with claws, common knowledge of course) to have the perfect dissonance. One day he will be the master of the flute, one day he will show them all, one day he will have the satisfaction, one day....

sorry, could not resist. Really really good picture.

It seems tome the tune would be a rather sad one, somehow.
And I believe the pipes are not all the same length they are just the "wrong" way around, if you compare it to the "regular" panpipes most of us know.
Great picture.

Beautiful painting. It has such a wonderful sense of mood. I can almost hear the music and I expect the clouds to drift in front of the moon at any moment.
