SciFi and Fantasy Art: Adamus, Scarabae

I was reading the Opera of Blood trilogy by Tanith Lee and got 'inspired'. I wanted to do a piccy of someone from the books. I was too lazy and curious to draw on paper first, so I did this completely on the comp. Took me a while, especially because I haven't done much else with PSP yet, only the coloured pieces in this gallery, basically. Soooo... what do you think? Except for his face and penis then, those were the hardest parts. Oh yeah, the other hand is Rachaela's, he's luring her to his bed so get new Scarabaes. read the book if you want to know the story, it's too confusing to spell it out here ;-) Update: removed the cloth and did something with his arm. One tip: never work on pictures you consider done ;-)

Grah... well i just realized that Elfwood really needs to have a place to see the FULL picy while typing comments Okay.. well the window is nice even though it seems.. out of place (did you make that or find it,btw) I LOVE THE HANDS! The shading is great too the texture on the seat is really cool few small things... i think the eyes make the face seem a bit small... with the high cheekbones or small chin or something...and i agree wtih Crys that you need to adjust his more private area cough it's a bit blurry and the hair - should i call it fur? - there has always bothered me... especially the fact that he has no hair anywhere else and it kinda... explodes there I agree with you on the first bit, but nothing to do about that so far ;-) The window is an existing piccy with a filter, nothing spectacular. I am kinda pleased with the hands too... You know I suck at faces (and at backgrounds obviously ;-)). I'll upload the one with a string, happy now? ;-p

Maike 'Shyvven' Salet replies: "Nope, I drew this picture without reference on the computer (so not a pencil sketch at first). Only for the left arm I use a picture a friend of mine made with a digicam, because I had no idea what to do with his arm and she did. "
