SciFi and Fantasy Art: Bitter Prayers

You were meant to thank the gods if you survived. In every battle ended the survivors would walk far away from the carnage, the blood, the fires, and get down on their knees and pray.

She knew this when she became a warrior. She never really expected to live, but to die with honor. She never expected to be the last one standing, to be the one who slayed the enemy general. She never expected to be the sole survivor.

She lost everyone. Every man and woman she fought beside, her friends from birth, people she loved. But she was alive. Slowly, with tears in her eyes, she trudged away from the blood, her sore muscles crying for rest. She dropped to her knees not far from the field.

And to the gods, she offered her Bitter Prayers.

Now I don't mean to sound offensive this is some of your older work and I think you should redo the picture. Its a great picture but I think your skills have improved and a colour redo would really make it amazing. Course tis just my opinions.

That`s just it...a soldier is sitting in the foreground of a pic, or perhaps a large poster(if not enormous...), sits there...fallen on his knees and looks up in the sky, in despair of what the war brings and what it`s like...suffer..suffer..and more suffer...his helmet lays next to him...around him it`s just a big mess, totally chaos...and he asks himself this one question:`Why?`
I agree, why does it has to be this way, why?
It`ll never end...sad...
But the pic was good, and women can fight too you know, there`s lots of women soldiers today, you know...
I thought that what I saw was a stony scenery around her, but it might as just be snow too...
Poor, poor thing, how is she going to make it now, that`ll haunt her for the rest of her life, those memeories...
Keep up the good work...

Awww, the feelings of this are amazing! She looks soo weary and alone and disheartened, and past emotion. Someone please save her!! This is really well done, and i think that you have shown the emotions really well. Great work. *Gives you GIANT cookie!!*

This reminds me of my war against Satan---but Christ defeated him for me.

This is absolutely beautiful, both the picture and the story behind it. Would you mind if I used it for an icon in my livejournal? I'd credit you, of course.
