| 2 Nov 2001 | Norma Peters | Wow, what a beautifully ambitious work, Gloria! So much lovely detail, multiple characters, great perspective. This works well in black and white. ^_^ It looks like an illustration. Really wonderful job. Gloria H. Manderfeld replies: "Again blushing ... *smiles* most fun to create were the children ... I don't draw children that much, but their love to storys and fantasy made them a perfect part of the scene in my mind." | |
| 3 Jan 2002 | Lauren | This is truly a scene. Excellent detail and poses. You really took the time to capture a photograph of old history and not just focus on one character. One of my favorite pieces, beautifully done. Gloria H. Manderfeld replies: "In fact, this scene never happened ingame, but I just needed to do this pic - it was part of the feeling we had while playing the persons in the closed towns. *smiles*" | |
| 8 Feb 2002 | Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen | oh my goodness how cool it this! I love it, the pose and the setting and just about everything! Her hands looked a little bit odd at first, but upon closer inspection it was just my perspective. Great job. Gloria H. Manderfeld replies: "The hands were the most critical part of the pic - I've drawn them five or six times just to try out the perspective .. " | |
| 23 Jun 2002 | Luthien | please please PLEASE colour this!!! I love it!!! The detail is amazing and it screams talent. Excellent job ^_^ Gloria H. Manderfeld replies: "Uahh coloring? This one? Nooo ...help! I don't wanna kill me ... *still not patient enough for making any colorings*" | |
| 20 Jun 2003 | illegal eagle | "And then the big black dog JUMPED at Harry, knocking him over..." Gloria H. Manderfeld replies: "Hehe ... the time this picture was created, Harry Potter and big black dogs in his live dit not exist *smiles* but it *could* be just a scene like you imagined ^^" | |
| 19 Jul 2003 | Audrey Ann Knapp | Absolutely Amazing! I entirely agree! There aren't many works of art like this around! *applause* Gloria H. Manderfeld replies: "Thank you I wanted to get away from the normal 'a knight has to fight and wear shiney armor on every picture' cliche ... and well, it works ^^" | |
| 12 Sep 2003 | Leaf_defender | There is just one thing i dont understand about your collection is this: If shes a knight, why is she never wearing armour? Gloria H. Manderfeld replies: "Oh well ..good question. I also have pictures of her in armor, but not all are here in the gallery. The reason is simple: Nearly everybody has some knights in shiney armor in his or her gallery, and I wanted to show that there are many hours in a knight's life filled with other tasks than fighting or wearing armor. Did you ever wear a full plate? I did, and it's really heavy - not the kind of 'clothes' you want to wear every hour *smiles* a chainmail tunic is much easier to wear and allows a completely different fighting style. " | |
| 22 Jun 2004 | Daniel Maertens | I think some of your pics could be great on wood. as in a woodcut. | |
