| 18 Jun 2006 | Robey | Whilst I quite like this picture on an artistic level (and like it a lot on a purely visceral level, but I'm a simple beast), I'm perplexed to find this and other similarly-themed items when the rules state that overtly erotic images aren't allowed (and whether or not you think this image is sexual, you can't deny it's erotic). Still, if the mods aren't doing their job, I'm not complaining: nothing wrong with this. Your colour use is a little naive, though. I prefer the subtlety shown in some of your more recent pencil works.   Marco Gracio replies: "Yes it is erotic, but I think not in the level of "smutiness" at which I believe the mods are working. It's difficult to explain without the use of references, but the moon(?)beams ought to illuminate in a certain way but don't because you are trying to bring out the detail in the image with your use of natural colours. This is a perfectly legitimate use of your artistic licence and reminds me of Victorian fairy art. I do feel that it's a step too far given the already-cartoony style of this illustration, but it might just be a matter of taste. | |
