SciFi and Fantasy Art: Jeanne d'Arc

This one is put together from many different sources. The final result... my version of Jeanne d'Arc. Her face still could have used a little work but I was happy with the overall body. A nice touch that I thought I added; on the sword it says in Latin, 'Ad majorem dei gloriam' meaning 'For the greater glory of God'.

This is also very nice.. I like the notes that you have jotted down.. granted, they take away from the piece as finished, but it shows a continuation of thought thats pretty nice. This is sorta unfinished, so yeah... the notes show that.

This is very good, I love the folds in the cloth. Her face looks kinda anime, but I like that. 'Ad majorem Dei gloriam' is the motto of the Jesuits. You know, this isn't really fantasy, but I hope the moderators don't remove it.

The contrast between her fragile face expression and the heavy armor and clothing is just wonderful. She really has something from d'Arc's atitude. great picture.

Wow! I really dig this drawing. Obviously the dragon and knight picture is your masterpiece - but this is a close second 2 It's great that you can keep your humor on this site, a lot of people get really caught up in things that don't matter. I'm so happy I stumbled upon your gallery! Glad you like it... yeah a lot of people here are stuck up or insecure about their crap...

when i first read ur bio (the end) i though nah i probley wont have any comment to leave...but then i saw this pic!

and my thought was OMG someone got her name right! lol I may be american but respect the saints (for those of you who don't know yes she is a saint!) and call them by their name in their language. This was also my french name i went by in french class (i was the only one to have 3 names in all 3 years...but my teachers just kept getting confused...lol) originally i went by valire seeing as she is the saint on my birthday, then i went by my own middle name Danielle, just cuz its french, and my 2nd year teach couldn't remember to call me danielle or valire so it was changed to the name i'd be confirmed in the church as...and the church ppl aren't allowed to say the name in english under threat of me killing them hee hee lol

now that i've rambled on i shall now comment on the art work the upper part is fine according to legends, but seeing as she was passing for a man in the army she would not be wearing a skirt especially with armor...she'd be protected all around and wearing armor made for a man...other than that i love this one!
