| 5 Jul 2004 | Monica *Volcanokitten* Christensen | Very cool picture It looks very realistic, and I'm very pleased that you didn't just stick the cat-like head on a human body like some do. You have made him look like a cat-like creature, which has succeeded very well. KUTGW | |
| 6 Jul 2004 | Kalila | Nice! I like this race... hehe I find it really great how you continue the spots. Usually people would just do the head. | |
| 13 Oct 2004 | Kanaime | The Jaguar is only one form of the kanaima (Brazil: "kanaime"). They can change into birds and other animals, too. I have lived with Indians who are in terrible fear of them which leads me to believe that they are real. I have heard bizarre stories. Email me if you wish to know more. I'll even share with you the only known picture of a real-life kanaima.
By the way, very nice picture. I like it a lot. | |

| 29 Jan 2006 | Anthro | Kanaima is a real practice in Northern South America, predominantly in Guyana with variants in other locales. This drawing is an interesting interpretation, but is a little too "were-jaguar" in my opinion. The Kanaima are a type of assault shamans who attack not only the indigenous population but have a long history of killing white and black settlers. They do use a type of plant, related to ginger, to aid them in their attacks. They often strike people who are alone and defenseless and mutilate their victims in a particular way. Victims are most often poisoned and their tongue (pierced with snake fangs) swells so they cannot speak. Kanaima are neither monsters nor spirits but real people who are known to a community.
