SciFi and Fantasy Art: Something BAD

The guy with the sword...not mine, he's done by Rikke. The dragon head in back...mine, done with a computer mouse. The coloring job on both characters, mine. The idea to have him say 'There's something BAD behind me isn't there?' was my idea. I think it's funny. Go to Rikke's Art Gallery to see the original!

Update 11-18-2001: A bit of other information for anyone coming from TWOC, this picture got the ball rolling for the idea of Mitch.

Marvalous! Mice...the bane and blessing of computers everywhere! LOVE the coloring work. Mice can eb a pain, expecially when you can't get a smooth line, but when they do work properly they can be a nice help.

What's wrong with a cute dragon? This actualy doesn't strike me as particularly cute, just cool. How did you get the cool scale-texture? I have a dodge option that can lighten an area, I chose the base color and made it look scaley with dabs of that option, not worrying if I didn't get a smooth look. Then once I did that I wound up creating another layer to work on and made it all black, after I fooled around with the options a bit I got it to look the way it does.

OH! WOW! How did you get that chainmail textture?????? *clear throught looks all embarrised* Anyway, realy great colouring job, nay incredable colouring jod cause you did it with a mouse. ((runs off screaming "Now that's a bad thing; right?!?")) First, the way I got the texture on the chainmail was a texture affect that was available in the computer painting program I have. Once I did all the shading where all the lights and darks would be, I just put that section on a different layer and applied the texture....that simple.Second, a mouse CAN be hard to color with because it tend to be a bit shaky. It takes a lot of patience....and a lot of undos...

The quintessential "don't look now, but..." ^_^ This is a great picture. The only possible nitpick (which I have no right to use, since I've done it myself) is that the texture you used to make the armor is just a tich too obvious...

Creepy... that guy looks like a guy I know at school... (The guy with the honkin' big sword, not the dragon, =P)

The dragon reminds me of someone I met at ComiCon. And the scary part was he was out of costume. I'm wondering about the sword, though...was that meant to be foreshortened, or was it meant to be that wide? I've never seen a broadsword so...well...broad.

love the dragon´s eye, it look so real
and the sword from manga, the look so heavy
I really wondering if a real person wold hold it with one hand
but it is fantasy and there is no rules how big sword can be
the picture is great
