SciFi and Fantasy Art: Iris Ball

So, has she captured the world of color in this sphere, never to let it out again? Or has she produced this thing of beauty in the midst of the desolation she's been imprisoned in?

It looks to me like some dark sorcerer she was madly in love with, cheated upon her and now she stole his garden. She has this look on her face that says "Yeah, his own stupid fault. Well, he's not gonna get this back anytime soon..."
Very well done, its beautiful.

I first saw this work in 1998 and loved it then simply for it's beauty. Now 8 years later I look at it and see so much more. Now it holds significance in my life. Simply put....Thank you for sharing your talents.

To me, this is more of a "sorcerer-cheats-on-her-with-a-flower-nymph-so-she-imprisons-the-nymph-in-the-ball-and-makes-the-world-evil-and-nasty'. She seems to have a very vindictive, jealous look on her face... and yet it seems strangely satisfied at the same time.
But she definately did something evil... not good. She looks too pleased with the darkness around her to have done good.

judgeing by the look on her face, she captured the color...if she had made it though, she'd be looking at it with a look of likeness! So that's how you'd be able to tell!....(^_^)

Oof, that expression! It's gorgeous, almost like she says "Goodbye color. Were you watching that? Let me finish this; and then you'll be next." Gives me the chills.
