SciFi and Fantasy Art: <Mature> White sister of the plains(June 2002) This is the details of the Sisters picture, and my friend's character. Now I know, the background is not so very original, but after spending hours colouring, I just didn't feel like sitting there making a nice background :P
Her name is Adara, she belongs to a race of creatures made of the very essence of life and magic, a race from which she thought she was the only survivor, until she met another like her.
Her name was Delaheena. Older, wiser, she was touched by Adara's kind heart and gentleness, and stayed by her side to protect and teach this onnocent one how to understand and control her powers.
Adara was one of the plains and forests, friend to the unicorns and other mythical creatures. The green of the forest gives ease to her soul, she finds confort in her contact with nature.
My friend is a writer and actually making a fanfiction on her character, and it's really good, so here's the link: http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=691771&chapter=1 | |

| 22 Oct 2002 | Seraphyx | It almost looks like you used some sort of computer program to draw her. Like maybe flash art? I dont know im just now learning paint shop pro. Beautiful wings and i adore the detail put into her gold jewelry. you render the way the fabric falls nicely with the shadowing. the only thing i think could use a little adjusting is the shading. Maybe push some of them darker in certain places so she sticks out a bit more? like seperating her from the background a bit. Like the insides of the wing and i think around her neck and shoulders. anyway just to make her stand out more I just think it needs a few more darker values. Maya Jean replies: "Thank your for all your very nice comments. Many of the little details you pointed out on the other pictures are true, some pictures are older than others, and I never stop leraning and improving my drawing style. For this picture, I did not use a computer program to draw her. The character was drawn with good ol' graphite pen, then inked, and then scanned. Then I put the color with Adobe Photoshop, but ony the color. I must admit it is hard to make the shadings on a "being of light"." | |
