SciFi and Fantasy Art: Morpheus and Hermes

I did not do the original drawing for this. Credit goes to Rene' M. Brandt for the original pencils ( you can catch her on her own elfwood gallery . You can also catch the original lineart on my personal gallery...

I kept most of the lineart in there, as my colorwork was not too dark (for once!) and allowed the original lines to give more of that feeling from the original I so liked... I'm not entirely satisfied by the clouds they are riding on, but other than that, I quite like it... hope you guys and gals do to...

Hm... I'm starting to think that maybe I should ask you to colour one of my pictures...

The Artist's Answer : Well, keep posting some stuff on your page and as soon as I see something that I believe would gain from my coloring and would fit my coloring style / what I'm trying to work on (currently drapes and clothing), I'll most likely try my hand on it (no promises, though... Learning watercolor is eating much of my art time *grin*).

Great coloring work and a good choice of artists to work with.
The Artist's Answer : Yeah... aren't they great?

And another thing: Where's hermes' helmet and caduceus? And the colors of Moprhy's coat are too similar to the background color, they blend in it, you should try to use colors that contrast with each other. but seriously, I like it 2 Especially Morph's sleeve.

The Artist's AnswerHermes's helmet is on his back and he left is caduwhatever at home. He can get back there quickly if he wants. BTW, these are Rene's rendition of Heather's chars which I colored, so they don't have 100% compliancy to standard mythological descriptions. On a calibrated monitor, the sky and coat are very well separated. No chance of mixing'em up, no sir-ee.

Helpfull hint: The "smudge" tool in photoshop is a lot of fun for clouds... BTW My Lady haunted by Springs pic has a heavily drapped dress in it (hint hint) PS Why does this thing make me think of Sandman? I haven't even read the damn things...

First of all, these are the versions that -I- created, that Rene drew for me. The colors are way off. Still... the colors that you chose are very pretty, and I like the blending. Odd, that I find my guys floating around here and there.

The Artist's AnswerI wasn't aware there was a color scheme for'em... Oh well, just plac'em on my 'artistic interpretation' bill. I'll pay later. ;P (winking and poking our my tongue makes me feel very silly.)

The faces seem a bit cartoony, a little warped in some places...and for some reason, they remind me of Bill and Ted...yeah, from that...."movie".

The hands look good, as well as the colouring for the coats and such.

Other than that, a decent picture
