| 23 Oct 2001 | Kasane | I think your art work is very good, but you shouldn't worry so much about using other people's ideas for your own use. I sometimes search for a picture here at Elfwood, not to COPY it, but to find inspiration. I know it can be hard to be inspired, and I think that copying a particular idea or piece can be helpful as long as you are not using it against copyright laws (e.g. turning a profit) I have found that by copying a picture already done, I can adopt my own style slowly over time, and sometimes it can serve as good practice or good stress relief. my basic policy is to hell with some people, because sometimes there is just no pleasing people and you always need to look out for your own interests. Keep up the good work! | |
| 7 Jul 2002 | Ashley vasquez | Hello renee nice picture it is really nice ! | |
| 23 Jul 2002 | Magnolia Blaire Busse | Hey Megan! I'm surprised I haven't commented here before.. seeing as we're both in the same gallery. Sorry to hear about threats over fan art and umm.. 'copied' pictures. You CAN have fan art!! LOTS of fan art.. but in fanquarter!!! Get a fanquarter gallery toooo! I have to say I really enjoy you're style, but not all Japanese anime started out with creepy potato eyes. I'm a bit of a fanatical loser when it comes to the older cartoons I grew up with. Oringinally, Macross (aired in Japan early 80's, was manipulated and twisted and mushed into 'Robotech' for America!..but that's another story) was into the more realisitc look, though still Anime, potato eyes did not come into effect until Macross 7 (early 90's, not released in U.S. beyond bootlegs)....and people have questioned that if it didn't have the name 'Macross' on it, would we even watch it?
heh heh... Eegads... sorry for the history lesson there.
Please do keep up the great work!! I'd hate to see yet another asset to Elfwood split!
| 8 Jan 2003 | Batu Caine | You should never feel embarased or allow others to make you feel shame for using pictures or live models for, well, just that, MODELS. Anyone petty enough to give you grief over that is of no consequence. Some of the greatest artists throughout history have used models. Even Boris Vallejo, who is one of the best known fantasy artists uses models, and photos. There is nothing wrong with it at all. The only thing you have to watch is copying other artists work and calling it your own. | |

She's here to display her ART (which is very lovely, by the way) nut no, you rudely barged in and commented on her body shape. And maybe you should learn proper spelling, because it seems that you have the intellectual capacity of a dishwasher. Next time, do us a favor and don't put your obnoxious thoughts into typing you a s shole.
