SciFi and Fantasy Art: Pirates!

Another sketch I found while looking for other things. This was a gaming group from a very interesting game I did with the roommates after watching PotC (the first one, yes it's old).

The world was sort of steam punk so they had an airship (yes, air pirates, yum!)

The blond boy on the left was an elf and a young (wild) mage that stowed away on the good ship Quetzalcoatl. When discovered he beat up a good portion of the ship's crew (blew up is more appropriate) so the captain took him in rather than risk the rest of his crew trying to get rid of him.

The middle one is Captain Altatlquocotye (I think that's how he spelled it), captain of the Quetzalcoatl. Most just called him Otter though. He was of questionable lineage (a mixed bag of human, elf, drow and tiefling) though claimed to be 'human. . . basicaly'. They both have their ears cut because the world they live in does not appreciate non-humans.

The girl's a boring old human from our word (her player was new and very unoriginal). She was 'rescued' from a slaver ship when the Quetzalcoatl took its cargo.

i agree... great costumes. and dude, does otter have *ahem* "scissorhands"? (lol, johnny depp...) anyway... wee, pirates! darn, why have i not drawn more pirates?

Heh. . . Thankies all.

I think the resemblance to Jack was somewhat a consequence of the character’s ultimate cool (both Jack and Otter), and the player’s love of all things Johnny. I hadn’t even made the connection to scissorhands though I’ve a feeling she may have. The clawed gauntlets, though interesting, are not a very practical weapon choice.
