SciFi and Fantasy Art: Midday Trek

Placin had been the source of all the conversation for the last three hours and it seemed to the cleric that he showed no sign of letting up. Not that it was seriously agitating her. Yet. After joining ranks with her former adventuring companions, the experience forced her to become more tolerant of social activities and communication no matter how mundane she believed it to be. Never once did she ponder if leaving that group and joining the undead traveler was a poor idea, even if he was quite the chatter box. In a way, it was rather refreshing being with a new companion. However, for the moment, Sadeeka’s ears needed a bit of rest from the bouncy topics. At the time, Placin was rambling on about his home land and reminiscing on the past.

“You know, it has been nearly 200 years since I’ve seen my home land.” He said with a sigh. “How I miss it.” There was a long pause between them before Placin finally glanced at her. “You haven’t said much in a long while, m’lady.” He noted.

“You haven’t given much room to interject anything.” The elf replied in her very typical flat tone.

“Oh, my apologies!” Placin replied rather aghast at that thought. He could have missed out on so much intriguing information and dialog had he just been a bit more silent.

“No apology is necessary. Words do not flow through me as graciously as they do you. I have little need for them.” She said, casting her blackened eyes upward at the tall immortal. Placin just beamed happy as can be then adjusted his hat.

(Short clip from the short story I've written that still needs finishing. This is based off a world I have always had batting around in my head but only recently decided to start illustrating.) NOTE: Shrinking this down has killed all the details this piece contains. For the full image, please click this link here.

YAY!! Finally fixed! Thanks for the Mods Choice and thanks for your comments everyone! :)

I love it. Such colorful characters. I checked out your larger version and indeed, there is so much detail to be seen. It helps me tremendously to see such a great background, for I am trying to give more depth to my backgrounds. You have illustrated excellent use of foreground, midground and background. Characters like these are what makes people fall in love with fantasy.

Ah, that's so cool! A chattering undead... and who said they're always evil and gloomy? 1) I love his glowing blue eyes under this great hat. Congrats on mod's choice!

It looks like he's telling her about the time he singlehandedly invented the wheel, or defeated Sauron, or something... XD

In other words, the characters' mood matches your description exactly. Great job!

He looks so great, that he's almost hot. Good Job!

He reminds me of semi-evil skeletal version of Tom Bombadil, I almost expect him to start singing, dancing, and maybe picking flowers to bring to the elf. 10
