SciFi and Fantasy Art: Grey

Meet Grey (behold further proof of my unimaginativeness), a mage and Mouse's significant other. This is actually Grey towards the middle-end of the story. He starts out significantly less generic-fantasy-hero-man. Weaponless, anti-social, and rather pessimistic and unmotivated due to the fact that he's dying of an incurable heart-lung disease. First try at these nifty watercolor pencils that I've had lying in the closet for about ten years or so. I think I like them better than ordinary colored pencils, but not as well as real watercolors.

7 Jan 2004	ElvenWarriorPrincess	Loading... does the First Comment happy jig I like this one! You DO employ a lot of manga-ish techniques in your characters, but I LOVE that! I'm a manga collector myself, so I like the style a LOT! The coloring on this one is really nice, the earthy tones are perfect! Meriko M. Robert replies: "Thank you~ I'm glad you like the picture. It's lacking in contrast, but ah well. Hopefully I'll improve as I continue practicing with the watercolor pencils."
10 Jan 2004	Triniteegirl	Loading... I love this picture--i just love looking at watercolor pics--i wish i could paint so bad--me painting and i don't mix. Great work--i love your gallery and congrats on all the mod choices. Meriko M. Robert replies: "Maybe you can try watercolor pencils. ^_^ It's halfway between coloring and painting, I think...you just color with the pencils as usual and then blend with a brush of water. It's fun~"
