I did this picture several years ago, probably around 1996 or '97. I'll have you know that I used every color I had for the horn alone, which was at least 24! Yes, I'm a detail freak. Medium: Prismacolor Pencils on sketch pad.

Is it an Arabian?-Or drawn with that breed in mind? I love it! You have much talent!!!Thank you! My equine drawings invariably have Arabians in mind, because the breed is my life's passion. This drawing is quite old, but I still really love it.

what is in a name? innocent beauty is exactly what it says. a glance makes it seem elegant, yet simple, but something about it catches your eye. and then you look at it more closely, and you are amazed at the color and the beauty, the intricate detail. it makes you think that you (Melissa) would have had to have seen one of these creatures in the flesh to have drawn it to the accuracy of the unicorns i see in my dreams.

the horse is FUGLY.....not ugly but EFFIN UGLY....its looks as if it is twisting itself.......IT LOOKS AS IF IT HAS A DISEASE....WHICH IS INDICATED BY THE DIFFERENT MULITCOLOURED HAIRS DISPLAYED IN ITS MANE
AND THE SORE RED EYE.........I FEEL IT IS UNETHICAL TO PORTRAY UNICORNS SO DISGUSTINGLY......A POOR JOB YOU HAVE DONE THERE...

in reply to smelly, obviously you have never sat on a horse to realize that this view is from behind and is how ANY equine looks, it's very good so don't criticize.

The mane seems a bit stringy and limp, but then again, I can't draw stuffs like that O.x
The colors are lovely and soft. Nice job!

Hm, I think your unicorns look a lot better, more unicorn-like and more innocent when you don't try to make them horse-like... This unicorn is beautiful, but there are too many portraits of such unicorns already...
