SciFi and Fantasy Art: Heraldry of Taisgeal

Yes, yes, I covered the knot up.  If you just want the knot, email me and ask for it ;)  Last time I checked plain knots weren't fantasy (shoot, strictly by the rules Aragorn isn't even considered fantasy).  Not that I'm trying to start a fight! (Really, I am not trying to start a fight, just making a statement.)

Back to the image:
Heraldry of Taisgeal
Tasavalta - Siar kingdom in the West, white unicorn on red
Albion - Kingdom in the West, gray fisher cat on blue and white waves
Saliega - Human kingdom in the East, red horse on white above orange and red bars (They are known for swift horses.)
Palazdun - Human kingdom in the East, red and white chevrons, their words are "Feed the Fire."
And in the center Tinegin - Human kingdom in the East, sheaves of gold wheat on white quartered with red

(My heraldry speak isn't perfect but I'm ensconced in my chair with blankets and laptop and I don't want to get up to get my reference books.)

By the way, Taisgeal is my personal world, check out my gallery for the dragon maps of it.

This place can be just a little touchy on it's definition of fantasy. Personally I've been thinking of creating a tour of art that is considered "borderline" due to lack of ears, wings, magic. I mean, in what time period would a human female have been accepted as a warrior or priest? not in this world. Thus: fantasy. Anyway, your fantasy world's heralds are on display ergo, fantasy art in my book. Lovely knotwork too. Reminds me of the cover on my dad's Celtic Mass CD

:-) Meg L. Getrum replies: "Thank you, thank you! I'd love to see that tour. I even got one pic rejected in this ticket. They didn't like my modern art unicorn piggy. http://www.dragonrockltd.com/unipig.html"
