You can get a full-feature modeller and animation program called Blender for free (its freeware) at http://www.blender.nl It is similar to 3D Studio Max and Lightwave.

Wheeeee, I'm back! *does a happy return to Elfwood dance* So excited...I thought I was never going to get to show off my latest! There will be more, as soon as the changes percolate through the system... I've downloaded Blender and will check it out...um...as soon as I stop having evil homework assignments that take up all my time. And I am hoping to get Bryce 5 as soon as monetarily possible now that I realized I get a student discount. Muahahaaa! A little behind schedule, but still happy about it.

I can't say very much for that one hand-drawn picture that's posted, but I definitely say that your CG artwork is astounding. Incredible, you have the true makings of a modern master artist. &#9786;

Yay for 3D art! Have you ever considered trying to get something like 3DS Max or Maya? If not, you should. Only thing is, those programs cost tons of money. I'm trying to get Maya right now, but not having any luck.
You can get student discounts on stuff like that. We're trying to get it at my school, which is where I would do most of my 3D work. You might want to try to get it through your school as well. Costs less that way.
