SciFi and Fantasy Art: Archangel Jophiel

Richard Thomas Lankes aka 'Dirty da Vinci' invited any and all artists to take this version of Archangel Jophiel, and color it in their own style, taste or technique.

Here is my version! I would like to thank Richard for this chance to work with him.

I think the coloring is very good. I like the colors you used. They look really natural. The skin tones are also very georgeous. Good job!

:-) Andrew P. Morris replies: "Thank-you for commenting! The skin tones are only partly mine, the base drawing and color is, as mentioned above, by Richard Thomas Lankes aka 'Dirty da Vinci'. I reworked the entire drawing’s color but loved the blue skin so much I did not want to change it. Cheers, Andrew"

Very interesting designs. I'm curious - did you have a theme in mind (an idea about her personality or background), or did you just draw what came into your head at the time? Either way, it looks very cool. : )

:-) Andrew P. Morris replies: "Thank-you for commenting! I think that the basic drawing by Richard Thomas Lankes aka 'Dirty da Vinci' is inspirational simply because he is such a talented guy. I loved the skin tone he used so I only needed to bring out the highlights and deepen the shadows. The challenge here was to determine what was body jewelry and what was a tattoo. When coloring these I needed to both contrast and compliment her complexion. I chose gold for the jewelry because of the contrast it made. For the Tattoos and the draping I worked from the angle of complimenting the figure and not over powering it. This drawing has many classical elements in it due to Richard's wonderful style. Why it is inspirational is up to the individual. I like a few lines from the song "Shine" off of Collective Soul's first album: Love is in the water
Love is in the air
Show me where to go
Tell me will Love be there?
Oh, Heaven let your light shine down"

I love it she's so pretty. My friend wants to do that

:-) Andrew P. Morris replies: "Thank you for your kind comments. Your friend wants tattoos of flowers around her nipples? I have seen it done and the effect is very striking. "
