SciFi and Fantasy Art: Don't Be Afraid To FlyIf cows had wings, would they dare to fly?
Or would they be too afraid to try, thinking the task impossible?
Graphite pencils on sketch paper. The calf comes from one of my own photos.
Edit: Redrew the wings, because they were bothering me and looked awkward for some reason... Anyway, for better or worse they're changed. (Hopefully better because I altered the original sketch).
| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 20 Sep 2007 | Kim Schoonover (Darth Maul´s scary sister) | Apparently, I forgot to come by and mention the adorableness of this, and the cute little wings, and the awesomeness in general of the entirety of it. Forgive me. I'll try not take so long to comment again. Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Oh! *shakesfist* You coulda' said that before I went and painstakingly redrew the wings, nearly mangling the original sketch in the process...
Now I don't know whether these new wings are better or worse. >."
| 21 Sep 2007 | Anon. | Well if that isn't one of the cutest things I've ever seen I don't know what is! And I am not particularly fond of cows either. Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Not many people are, for some strange reason. I guess I'm a country gal..." | |
| 21 Sep 2007 | Kim Schoonover (Darth Maul´s scary sister) | D'oh. >.*does an impersonation of an evil villain when something goes disastrously wrong, letting out a long, anguished "NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo...!!!" while shaking her fists at the stormy sky as her voice echoes into the distance. Or whatever it is evil villains do when something goes wrong* Okay, I'm over it. It's done now, too bad. It can be Quasicowdo. The flowers are a nice addition, though. Um, actually I added them to cover up the marks on the paper where I erased the old wings. *shifty eyes* *realizes that this is a fairly horrible comment* Er... It needed to be said, though! Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Well, of course it needed to be said, that's the whole reason I have stuff up here. ^^ " | |

| 21 Sep 2007 | Anna ´Drakonee´ Frankova | This looks so cute! I like the eye the most. I never thought that cows and ornamental borders would fit together - but they really do in this piece! Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thank you! I like ornamental borders. ^^ They're a good time-waster if you've got too much time on your hands, like I do. Good way to fill up a blank page, too." | |
| 4 Oct 2007 | Maxine "piXel" Cox | I remember modding the original and the update, and each time, thought, mmm, must get over for a comment. mmmmooooo hehe.. lovely work Megan, that long lashed winking eye is just so ... adorable? Your graphite pieces are actually very, very good, excellent shading and attention to detail - maXine Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thanks, Maxine! (And yes, I suffer from a serious inferiority complex...)" | |
| 26 Nov 2007 | Stephanie S. K. Marbach | ...OOOOOOOOOOOOH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! what a cute little baby thing!!! my heart melts when i watch it... wooooow !!!!!!!! soooooooooooo cute... !!!!!!!!!! Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Yes, I shall use this as a weapon to melt people's hearts with impossible cuteness!! Bwahahaha!!" | |
| 13 Jan 2008 | Karen-Birgitte "Ellemerr" Borud | I’s so cute! And yes, I think it would fly... if, per say, a fat guy with a red face (not unlike my brothers teacher O.o) came wagging towards it with a knife and fork. If I were a winged cow, I’d try to fly away from that. O.o I do love your winged cows, though. ^^ Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Haha! Awesome. Indeed, yes, that would make ANYTHING try to fly. Thanks!" | |
| 29 Jan 2008 | Crystal | so cute! and I think it would fly, such as it being a calf. I dont think ’adult’ cows would have the (how to put this) inocence or imagination to try. kids just seem more oppen to new ideas. Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Absolutely true, and what a wonderful comment. " | |
