SciFi and Fantasy Art: Muses

First off, apologies for the horrible quality of this pic. It didn't scan well, and I had to cut the resolution to fit Elfy rules. Unfortunately, a lot of the detail has been lost. I will try to get better quality close-up scans of each of the muses individually.

For those of you who don't know what this is about, I gathered muses from several Elfwoodians to torture--I mean--draw. ;) The pic was done with coloured Derwent pencils on black construction paper. The border is supposed to represent a cage, and was done with a silver Artline ballpoint pen, as were the dots of light in the creatures' eyes. In real life, it measures approx 63 x 51 cm.

So here they are, from the top: Shaiel, Purple Badger, Black Python, Cute Widdle Draggie, Shadowdragon, Gold Griffin, Parrot Winged Chick.

But I made things a lot more difficult for myself by drawing him on a black background... black robes and dark-coloured wings on black paper = not easy! What do you mean, unliveable? "

But I do nay wish to sound like a stereotypical Aussie...Oh well. Lets do it anyway. The Purple Badger and the Black Python would have to be my favorites..I don't particularly like the dude up the top but...Oh well, he fits. Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thanks! A fact which I had hitherto only suspected. sigh Oh well, these ones are certainly very nicely done! Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "A fish muse? blinks Why the gods didn't I think of that?? looks at her own rainbow-winged muse Bah! snaps fingers and the muse changes, looking rather bewildered Ahem. My muse is now officially an angler fish. Er, I hope you don't mind me borrowing your idea, it was just so cool. "
6 May 2005	Alia Honegger	Loading... My muse came to me in a dream(no, I'm serious). He's a large fish that sorta defies explanation 'cause he's like nothing I've ever seen before. Try to imagine a salmon crossed with an eel, the size of a sturgeon, with sort of the head of a barbel without the barbels. His base colour is white, but he's got little black, blue, and dark pink blobby spots and streaks in lines on his body. An angler fish is also a good one! Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Very nice. O.o Though the snake’s on a very close second. But, the little birdy isn’t really a muse, is it? O.o It’s just the blackish guy’s pet or whatnut. Or? Awesome piccy, anyways... Elfwooders really have the best muses, don’t ya think? Though I really think you should’ve included your own muse on it... what is it, anyway? O.o Rainbow-winged fishy? Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "The magpie is the guy’s pet, I think... My muse used to be that colourful and terribly proportioned winged lady in the corner. Till I decided I didn’t like her and locked her up in a muse cage of doom until she starved to death. o_O Now I’ve got a flying zombified angler fish named Algernon, who doesn’t do much except float around like an idiot. -_-"
