SciFi and Fantasy Art: Shadowdragon: preliminary sketch

Sketch of Emberice's shadowdragon, for the Muse picture. The bluish tint is not intentional, it just scanned that way. o_O

*does comment jig* Ooooo that looks cool! The blueish tint wasnt intentional!? Thats cool! Makde it look kinda surreal ^_^ Nicely done, I can never get the light reflecting off of the dragon's body right but you caught it here!

:-) Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thanks! Yeah, light reflection is tricky..."

Well done job on shading and lighting! Can't wait to see the whole dragon...
Keep up the good work!!!

Looks like a deep-sea something.

:-) Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Does it? That's interesting... I guess it does, now that you mention it. I was trying to stay away from the traditional dragon design."

"Deep sea somethings" are usually called "Serpents", but yeah. Cool picture. Do a spiffy background for it and I can almost smell the mod's choice coming your way. 12

1 Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thanks! As for the background... meh, I'd probably only ruin it. I'm no good at backgrounds."

You got that lovely metallic scale thing down pat, great job! I know I couldn't do that.. *grumble*

:-) Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thanks! All it takes is practice, patience and studying other artist's work to see how it's done. Looking at metallic objects to see how the light falls helps too."

Meep! ... Is a big scary, no? Whoever got this muse must be a horror-maker. xP I adore the thingy on his head. ^^

:-) Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thanks! He belongs to an old friend of mine. Who isn’t around Elfwood much these days."

oooh... shiny deep-sea thingy... I really like the metalic effect!

:-) Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Thanks!"

And incidentally, I’ve never written horror. ^^;;

Also, I’m not around much cause I haven’t written anything worth posting in the last... four? five? months or so... >.<

:-) Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Well lookee who turned up outta nowhere!! *hugs* I thought you were dead! Then again, who’s *not* dead these days? :/ (Except for us mods and the newbies...)

You’ve never written horror? Why not?

I haven’t updated FW since November. Crud. >.< Must stop doing art and write something..."

nice shadow dragon! =) black drags are the coolest!

:-) Megan ´Angler´ Proverbs replies: "Indeed. Though this could be a lot better. ^^; Was trying not to use the same traditional ’dragon head design’ that everyone else uses..."
