SciFi and Fantasy Art: Mermaid

Another water picture. I never could understand why mermaids were always pictured with long hair. Having not so short hair myself, I find it's an incredible pain in the butt to swim with; it wraps around your throat, catches on things and slows you down. So I drew this. Of course, being that thin probably isn't practical either, the poor girl would probably die of hypothermia in cool water. Next time, I'll draw a mermaid with a good layer of blubber. ^_~ And yeah, I do realize she's not anywhere near anatomically correct. :)

23 Nov 2007	lvmermaid	Loading... The colors and details are fantastic. I like that the mermaid is unique and somewhat futuristic - kind of goes with our environmental issues in the ocean these days. The light is captured in a unique way and love the spear!
