SciFi and Fantasy Art: Phoenix

Great war comes though the land; fire, plague and disasters turn beautiful forests and meadows to wasteland. And from dust and ashes arises flaming screaming phoenix and her deadly song of revenge echos across the skyes...

SO, out of curiosity i look up this "ho oh" that people are screaming about.....Im confrunted with this terribly primitive drawing (never been a fan of most of the pokemon) ok, the ho oh isnt even the same SHAPE as this pheonix. Yes, it does have a similar pose, but so has every other pheonix type creature i have ever seen. but the hooh's wings and tail are very flat, strait. this creatures wings have much more curve to it, the whole body flows much better then that of the hooh's.

So I really just wanted to comment on your name.
Romanian for "hope", right? (Very cool name)
Anyways... I was just admiring your artwork. You're awesomely talented. Keep it up.

I am sorry, but I am sickened by this.
No. I won't accuse you of copying.
But it is artists like you that mock true talent.
A four year old could eventually learn how to use computer programs to create art. I find it sick that people see true beauty in a technologically created image. Sure it looks nice. It also looks... not as original.
I myself am I phoenix, etc. researcher. I despise what you did to the image. No feelings radiate from it.

Not an artist, but but love art. Was just looking through some of these galleries and looking at some comments when I came across this one. First off, don't listen to "some dude"...he's on crack or something. Your picture is breath-taking, I absolutely adore it. I googled this "ho oh". It's amateur compared to yours. Plus, the head feathers are smaller, the tail feathers are shorter, and it's just all around BLAH! Beautiful work, keep it up!
PS to everyone else: Artists get their inspiration from a million different places, so what if she wanted to do her take of a ho oh (not saying thats what they did) the only similarities that I see are the pose and the fact that they are both pheonixes, so its NOT PLAGARISM!

I have mixed felings about the picture ,and about flamingmyth’s comet. first of all I am 12 and do not know how to do a computer generated image. however I have to agree that the picture does not give off fealing. (though I love the gold color, and the over all sparalynes-thats not a word is it? oh well!)

I think ’some dude’ is an idiot and does not know a thing about art.
