SciFi and Fantasy Art: ArielThis is Ariel from Shakespeare's The Tempest. It's one of my favourite plays, I think it has wonderful characters and story, but, actually, I love every Shakespeare plays. They are so amazing. I think Ariel is a really great character, so I wanted to make a picture of her. Well, here she is; the mischievous airy spirit, who loves her master so much and likes to serve him but she's longing for freedom... It's just a sketch so I know it could be better.. but I really wanted to catch her longing expression and I think it turned out well. I hope you think so too. | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 15 Jul 2005 | Laurel Arrisha | Hm.. never read the tempest, but i knew that ariel was a shakespere character cause they named one of uranus's moons after her i really like this picture it looks realistic, and i find it hard to draw clothing to make it look realistic, but yours is really good i like a midsummer night's dream with the fairies Fazekas Hanna replies: "Yeah, yeah, Midsummer Night's Dream is really great too, I always wanted to do some illustrations for it. Maybe I will sometime. I love Shakespeare. Anyway, someone pointed out before that Ariel was a boy (I really didn't know that o.O), but I always imagined her as a girl, so.. I'm glad you like this pic." | |

| 9 Sep 2005 | Erin E. Johnston | I love Shaekspear! *sniffs* Never read "the Tempest," though *cries*. I think you captured the look very well. I like her shiny eyes! Fazekas Hanna replies: "Oh, read it, it's one of the bests from Shakespeare! Thanks for the comment!" | |
| 27 Nov 2005 | Anonymous | Nice style, a easily see able body shape, nicely draw. Lots of pictures of ariel that i have seen have been male, this is a nice change. The tempest is an amazing story but what colour would this picture be if you coloured it in? Fazekas Hanna replies: "I won't colour it. Thanks for your kind words, I also think that The tempest is amazing. Everyone says Ariel is male and my answer is always the same: I didn't know that. Sorry. I've always seen him (or her) as a girl like that." | |
| 15 Jan 2006 | Emma | Btw... I think the toes on her right foot are backwards... lol Fazekas Hanna replies: "Yeah, I know, others pointed it out too. It's an old pic and I'm bad with anatomy. Thanks anyway, I'm gonna fix it sometime." | |
| 15 Jan 2006 | Emma | Beautiful drawing. You have a great sense of human anatomy, all of your drawing do. The facial structure of all the elves in your gallery is as elvish as I've ever seen them, very pretty. Some of the best drawings of elves and fairies I've yet seen. Fazekas Hanna replies: "Wow, thanks, I'm so glad!" | |
