| 6 Jul 2002 | Desiree | I really like this picture because it looks vaguely Roman (inspiration from there or what?), and if that is the case I guess the horse proportions to the rider would be about right (horses being smaller back then than they are now). Another thing I like: no stirrups! *cheers and runs around ahppily*...ahem. I'm just way too excited over this picture aren't I? *slinks away* Nathanael L. Wetjen replies: "Heh heh...yes, totally inspired by Roman times...you can get as excited as you like...you have my permission. Thanks for stoppin by!" | |
| 18 Aug 2002 | Kit CW Kederich | The Romans used small horses. Looks great, terrific technique! Raise the Imperial Standard! SPQR! | |
| 19 Sep 2002 | Carol W. Wu | I definitely agree that the soldiers look very realistic. The head and breast armor of the foremost soldier/Roman/cavalier has wonderful detail. I hope that one day you have the inspiration/incentive to finish this picture | |
| 28 Dec 2002 | Pxy | I love the way it is unfinshed. It leaves an almost mysterious void, like you can see what you were thinking about doing and it lets you finish the rest with your mind, and in a way every one will see a different picture because of the way thier mind works. BEAUTIFUL ART! I can only dreak of drawing like that....<<< sigh >>> | |
| 12 Apr 2003 | Regina Martin | This is a really neat piece. I like the way you portray the Romans. The detail on the horsetail helmets in the front guy is really neat, as is the standard the guy in the back is carrying. You really have a wonderful grasp of armor and weaponry! I'm terribly jealous! | |
| 1 Aug 2003 | Thekla Sathirali Morgenroth | Oh i hope ou finish it! Great picture! | |
| 16 Sep 2003 | Artemeze | I'd forget about finishing it, put in some rolling mist and call it "worriors of our past" | |
| 25 Mar 2004 | Nostalgia Man | Yes Roman mounts are small and sturdy! You're very good in horse anatomy! Cant wait to see the finished version!
Cheers! | |

| 5 Aug 2007 | Emily E. Puthawala | Hey! Really nice drawing! I just have one suggestion. When people ride horses, the keep their heels down or at least horizontal because then all their wait is in their heels and it is easier to keep your balance especially while riding. Also, when you are at a canter or gallop as that looks, most people automatically stretch their legs farther down because that also helps your balance. The also supposed to grip the saddle with their thighs and knees but not their calves to it makes it easier for them to sit in the saddle. These reason's are why most horse-back riders have very strong legs. It's really hard stuff! | |
