This is the second sketch I have done of this idea and right now it is also on canvas(oil) with hopes of finishing it in the next hundred years. (pencil)

DAMMIT! WHY HASN'T ANYONE COMMENTED HERE YET!? This picture is AWESOME! I love the scenery and the visual impact of this picture is incredible! Wow, the background really does wonders to your artwork, something which I've obviously never been able to master. I love the scenery and the pose of the roman soldiers as they charge. Once again, your skills at drawing horses is making me envious and I feel sorry for whoever happens to be at the receiving end of this charge 12.

The scenery is cool, but me being who I am I immediately looked at the horses....aww. I guess they're supposed to be fierce war-horses...but they're so cute...and well done of course.

Wow, this -is- an awesome picture. Can tell they're ready to be wherever they're going and get started with whatever they're doing 10 With color, it would push it over the top, but I rarely like adding color to my own pencil sketches. I always find a way to screw it up 10 Nice work, though.
